"Crossfire" co-host Tucker Carlson on Edwards on 3/02:  I think there's some evidence he doesn't wear that well -- the televangelism does get old after a while."
That's exactly how I felt  as I watched Edwards' exit speech today.  Talking heads call it an optimism; I call it a sheer ambition with no substance.  His stump speech, Two Americas, is almost an exact rendition of  the "Two New Yorks" by some NY mayoral candidate, so I heard, whose campaign staff went to work for Edwards.  Nevermind, he shamelessly kept repeating the speech as if it were a gospel to spread!   In NYC event,  I surely caught him "reading" a different speech, and no reporter questioned him either.
Today he kept stressing how proud he is to have run a positive campaign, as if it were his sole contribution to American politics.  Well, we will never forgive him for his advisor Shelton's dirty work against General Clark, will we?  Or is it just me who felt so insulted by Edwards candidacy being so delusional?  I treasure the Queen Elizabeth Drew's "Primary Colors" -- http://www.nybooks.com/articles/16965 -- a gospel to us.
Bye bye Johnny and no more "me, me," please.  After all, you just won your native SC.
