US President George Bush has been photographed falling off a high-tech scooter near his family's summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.
A sequence of photos show President Bush stepping onto a two-wheeled high-tech scooter and then lurching forward before recovering his balance.
The electric powered, self-balancing Segway scooter was touted as the "next wave in transportation" when it made its debut several years ago.
The scooter relies on a series of gyroscopes and tilt sensors to mimic human balance and keep the rider vertical.
Mr Bush was not injured in the fall.
