Gore Would Have Voted "No" on the Iraq Resolution

Al Gore, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2000, would not have supported
the use-of-force resolution passed by the House or Senate, said spokesman Jano
Cabrera. Several members of Congress considering a run for president voted for
the resolution giving President Bush the authority to use force if necessary
to disarm Iraq.

"While (Gore) respects those who do support the resolution, he feels the
strategy chosen by the president is a serious mistake," Cabrera said. "The
president's strategy confuses the threat posed by Iraq, which is serious
indeed, and the threat posed by Osama, which is both serious and imminent."
