Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wellstone:

While he may have stood alone sometimes on the Senate Floor, we all respected his convictions. On October 15th, at the close of his last debate, Senator Wellstone said, "I don't represent the pharmaceutical companies, I don't represent the big oil companies, I don't represent the big health insurance industry, I don't represent the big financial institutions. But you know what, I represent the people of Minnesota."
That may be his most fitting tribute--the way he represented the people from the state he so deeply loved. He did it so well, according to his principles, and he will be sorely missed.
