I held off saying this for as long as I could.  Lehane is a sleazeball.

Edwards, whose only primary victory was in his birth state of South Carolina, would provide Kerry, 60, with a link to the South that complements the Massachusetts senator's northern roots. A Kerry-Edwards combination would challenge the re-election bid of President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney, said Chris Lehane, who had worked on the campaigns of Kerry and retired General Wesley Clark.
``The two of them could reinforce each other in a positive way,'' Lehane said of Kerry and Edwards.
