The Board of Election refused to mail Voter Guides for the presidential primary. Nor did they send polling place notifications - except to new voters. I had to scout 2 locations to figure out which one was my voting poll.
When asked why the change, they said "they only have to follow the letter of the law"
There was a record low turnout in NY for ANY election - only 1 million voters statewide - in great part due to this sabotage by the BOE.
I received a Voter guide and several mailings last year to vote for judges and a Bloomberg attempt to do away with democratic primaries.
I guess this was not quite that important.
Also, many Clark supporters decided to vote for kerry because of the endorsement.
