I posted this same information the other day. I'll repeat it:
Over the years I have gone to many Democratic fundraiser throughout the northeast. Boston, Hartford, Providence, NYC... when I was younger and healthier I went to them all. Martha Stewart was at them all. She is an enormous contributor and supporter of the Democratic Party. She is a friend of Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has gone so far as to accuse the Prosecutors in the Stewart Case of being overzealous publicly.
The prosecution and ultimate conviction of Martha Stewart was a message to ALL wealthy Democratic Party Donors. The message is: YOU CAN SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATS, BUT WE'RE WATCHING YOU. MAKE ONE MISTAKE, TELL ONE LIE, AND WE WILL BRING YOU DOWN. WE WILL TAKE YOUR WHOLE LIFE AWAY FROM YOU. IF YOU WANT TO END UP LIKE MARTHA, KEEP SUPPORTING THE DEMOCRATS. WE ARE WATCHING.
If they were so devoted to the idea of having every white collar criminal in jail, Ken Lay would at least endicted by now. But, he's a friend of the Bush's and a "Bush Ranger" for the RNC. While Martha is doing hard rtime in Federal Prison he will still be free. Just wait and see.
If they were so devoted to the idea that LYING TO THE GOVERNMENT is the ultimate crime, George Bush and his entire administration would be in the process of being impeached right now.
No, Martha is a message. It'll be interesting to see if it cools big donations to PACs who are out to get Bush out of office -- like MoveOn.org, and others.
