Clark is doing what we should be doing...thinking of the ideals that he stood for, and still stands for.  These didn't disappear because he didn't make it through the fray.  If he is able to put aside the indignities that he endured, we should be able to as well (let's not forget the Republicans contributed mightily to some of the worst of it, particularly when he began to soar in NH, and conservative columnists and commentator continued to beat on him incessantly after that - the Democrats weren't wonderful, but nothing like the real opposition).  Wes cares about the country, and what has happened to it...and what will happen if this continues another four years.  It is enough of a disaster already, and won't be easy to turn around...we need to join him in fighting to take our country back, instead of caving in and lamenting that Kerry isn't Wes (which he certainly isn't)...but remember what we thought about the Deaniacs who might refuse to vote altogether if their candidate didn't win?  They are going to be very disappointed, too.  I couldn't be more disappointed, but you have to get up and keep going...there is some pretty scary stuff out there, and we all need to try to deal with it.
Bush is bankrupting the country, and destabilizing the world.  And that's just the beginning.  That should be enough to support any of the democrats and to try as hard as we can to do something about it, whether we love Kerry or not.  I think most of us are feeling wounded by those who attacked Wes in any way in the race, and just generally about what happened....the media...the rush to crown someone, anyone...rather than look at the real candidates behind the slogans, and to find the best one.  Not only is Kerry potentially controversial, there are some in the Kerry camp who feel Wes is too controversial...by the time this is finished, anyone running against or campaigning against GW will be controversial.  And that may be OK.
Look at what happened to the flap about Wes not denouncing Michael Moore's "deserter" comment....by the next day, Moore had put all of the news articles about this onto his site, and thousands were hitting it to see what was said - then the media picked it up, and some Congressmen/women, and now you're not considered a crazy to suggest such a thing.  It moved the issue from being buried by almost total inattention when it first came out to a prominent issue on CNN.  Wes and Moore may have taken hits on this, but they also moved the debate about what we're tolerating in leadership along.  Do you recall the brief flap about Wes speaking to a muslim group that apparently has radical ties?  I think the headline (TV one) was something like "Clark Link to Terror?"  Apparently it didn't fly well enough to keep it going, so that was just a blip, but they did try it out...for all we know, the Kerry intern story may be more of the same.  Regard for the truth has not been the Republican's long suit in this campaign.  Don't give up...this is a strong, wonderful group of people....I'm glad it's still here.
