Subject:  Hatfields and McCoys? No, chocolate and peanut butter!

Folks, hi,

I just read a few of the postings and realized that there's a
misconception which *needs* to be fixed. (If I inadvertently
contributed to it in my posting about Bennett, I apologize.)

The truth is that, yes, there had been a "schism" between and among
Draft groups prior to the launching of the official campaign, but
the truth is also that within about 12 seconds of meeting each other
in a cramped headquarters in Little Rock, we were all getting along
great...Well, except for that pain-in-the-butt Brent. Nobody ever
liked Brent. (It's a joke! I swear! A joke! I just couldn't resist,
Brent, sorry.)

Last summer, Susan Putney and I were engaged in a war-of-words which
escalated to "teddy-bear-gate," but, six weeks ago, my wife and I
spent New Year's Eve at Susan's home.

Last summer, John and Jason would have spit at each other if given
the chance, but there wasn't a day in the trenches when they didn't
work together, improving each other's performance and appreciating
the other's value.

The list goes on and on and on -- people from "DraftWesleyClark"
wearing "ArkansansForClark" t-shirts and putting "DraftClark2004"
bumper stickers on their cars; people from the different "original
Draft" movements collaborating on projects, etc., etc.

So, if nothing else, please, PLEASE rest assured that while Clark's
ultimate fate may have been due to causes ranging from...well, I
won't speculate here. I'll just say that there was NOT a
continuation of any of last summer's competitiveness among the Draft
adherents, and I, for one, would absolutely jump at the chance to
work with any of them again.

Thanks!

Josh
