Good morning fellow Clarkistas!!!
What a day!!
What a 5 months!
What a year ahead!!
I remember last August, just enjoying the summer and not thinking much about candidates for President, even though I hated this President's policies, I was not awakened to any of the people running.  Dean, no, Kerry, no, the others, no.  And I'm really political mind you!!!  One day, I was reading the New York Times and saw a photograph of this guy, a General, General Clark.  I read he was a new candidate for President.  He intrigued me.  Who is this guy?  I, unlike some of you, did not keep up with the war on CNN.  It was too painful for me to watch any of it progress or to listen to any details.  I have a 20 year old son that I was extremely worried about.  Not only him, but all of his friends who had grown up around our home.  We marched against the war numerous times.  I knew this war was wrong.
SOOooo, back to that sunny day in August.  I brought the article home and placed the paper on the kitchen table and said to my husband:  "This is the guy, it's him, I've found my candidate."
Later that evening, they showed Clark making his speech in Little Rock.  I was instantly, INSTANTLY inspired.  WHO IS THIS GUY??????????????????
I feel like I had found a home.  And a leader and
I guess a father, even though he's not old enough to be my father.  I feel safe when he speaks.  Understood.  My values are his values.  The most important one, to me at least is the call to serve, to GIVE back.
He impressed the hell out of me.  He impressed the fear out of me.
WHO IS THIS GUY???  The guy is Wesley Clark, a man I admire and respect.  A man of honor and dignity and integrity and SWEETNESS combined with toughness.  A man
who cares that a woman is crying because the campaign is over and walks over to her and hugs HER.  In his hour of recessing his campaign, he reaches out to others.
There is not one minute that I do not stand tall and are filled, overflowing with pride and joy because of what he gave me, gave us:  HOPE, TRUTH, HONESTY, JOY!!!!!
Every day, every minute I am filled with gratitude.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you General Clark and Family.
